Centrient Pharmaceuticals Receives EcoVadis Gold Rating for the Sixth Consecutive Year
Centrient Pharmaceuticals is proud to announce that it has once again been awarded a Gold Sustainability Rating by EcoVadis, for the sixth consecutive year, recognising its continued commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.
This achievement places Centrient among the top 5% of all companies globally assessed by EcoVadis and reflects strong and consistent progress across key areas including environmental performance, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Furthermore, within the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations sector, Centrient now ranks among the top 3% of pharmaceutical companies rated by EcoVadis.
The performance is underpinned by concrete achievements, including:
- A 12% reduction in GHG emissions in 2025 versus 2022, driven by enhanced energy efficiency, improved refrigerant management, increased renewable electricity sourcing and the replacement of furnace oil with natural gas used in operations.
- Further strengthening of its approach to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) prevention, achieving certification for an additional site in India and positioning itself among the first API manufacturers in the country to obtain such certification.
- Delivery of strong social outcomes, reaching its ambition ahead of schedule by positively impacting over 66,000 lives through its CSR programmes supporting local communities, while facilitating more than 1.3 billion treatments worldwide.
Moreover, the company’s participation in global initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact further underscores its commitment to internationally recognised sustainability principles.
“We are very proud to have received the EcoVadis Gold rating for the sixth year in a row, and to see our score improve further this year,” said Faye Freeman, Chief Executive Officer of Centrient Pharmaceuticals. “Our customers rely on us not only for high-quality, reliable medicines, but also for responsible and sustainable operations across our entire value chain. This recognition reflects the progress we are making - strengthening the resilience and sustainability of our operations, supporting continuity of supply, and ultimately helping ensure patients have access to high-quality essential medicines.”
